Calisthenics are exercises consisting of a variety of body weight movements. These movements can be performed without equipment or using equipment such as rings or parralets.
Calisthenics is intended to increase body strength, body fitness, and flexibility, through movements such as pulling, pushing, bending, twisting, or holding, using only one’s body weight for resistance.
Calisthenics when performed as a flow and with variety of exercises can provide the benefits of muscular and aerobic conditioning alongside improving motor skills such as coordination agility and balance.
Craig has been learning Calisthenics for just over a year now under the watchful eyes of Movement Method. Within this time he has been able to learn advanced moves such as the ring muscle ups, meat hook, crock hold and the basics to hold a handstand. With the understanding that it takes time, patience and practice you will be able to do the same. Craig was never a gymnast or had any experience in this field of movements but is now capable to perform these movements and can teach you to do the same.
During our Calisthenics sessions we train groups of likeminded individuals through various body weight movement flows, as well as learning how to use the parralets, basic handstands and ring work. Each piece of equipment will have various movements that will challenge your strength, flexibility, coordination individually and as a collective.
